NATS - North Atlantic Skies

Another dataviz sequence produced by 422 South for NATS – the UK-based global air traffic management company.

This sequence shows a 24 hour period of real flight data over the North Atlantic during one summer day in 2013. To show the complexity of the air traffic control process we were asked to delineate the boundaries of the Atlantic air traffic control zones.

The data shows that there are approximately 2.5 thousand transatlantic flights every day.
