WETLAND LOSS IN THE YELLOW SEA
This is part of an animation package created by 422 South for Cornell Lab of Ornithology of Ithaca New York, for a film about the loss of huge swathes of wetland migrating bird habitat in the Yellow Sea. The loss is largely due to man-made coastal changes – especially along East coast of China. The mudflats offer coastal protection, but are also a stopping off place for thousands of migratory birds.
The film is produced by Tom Swartwout and John Bowman of Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The Lab’s mission statement is ‘To interpret and conserve the earth’s biological diversity through research, education, and citizen science focused on birds’.
