Geoverse

National Geographic Society

422 South were approached by National Geographic Society’s ‘Impact Story Lab’ to create globe locator graphics and data visualisations for Nat Geo’s new Museum of Exploration that opened its doors for the first time in July 2026 in Washington DC.

We created custom graphics for an immersive, 270-degree show designed to inspire young explorers. Following two National Geographic Explorers, the experience brings geography into the real world by mapping months of tracking data from three Wattled Cranes in Botswana and eight Andean Bears in the Peruvian cloud forests.

Our role was to translate this complex scientific data into engaging, child-friendly visual assets. Through clear layouts and dynamic maps, we broke down dense environmental concepts to show students how explorers use spatial data to understand and protect our planet—teaching them how to decode the world through geography.
