We were approached by Proper Job Films to create graphics for a new BBC Documentary ‘The Original Peaky Blinders’ as part of the 3-part documentary series ‘Britains Biggest Dig’. Presented by Anthropologist and anatomist Professor Alice Roberts and historian Dr Yasmin Khan, the episode details how Birmingham became one of the most important industrial cities on the planet through the hard work of the Victorian working class and dives deep into the real story behind the rise of the real Peaky Blinders.
Our task was to provide graphics that assisted the storyline highlighting newspaper headlines, creating gang family trees and bringing victorian insurance maps to life whilst all in-keeping with the look and feel of the era.
‘Britain’s Biggest Dig’ regularly airs on BBC2 since its premiere in September 2020, more information can be found on the BBC website here.
