The Five Great Forests of Mesoamerica

Cornell University

‘The Five Great Forests of Mesoamerica’ showcases a new study from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Wildlife Conservation Society sharing the vital role that Central America’s Five Great Forests play in the lives of nearly one half of the global populations of 40 species of migratory birds.

Using a range of bird data 422 South bought the migratory paths of these species to life, showing the full annual cycle of how the Wood Thrush, Golden-winged Warblers, and Broad-winged Hawks use the Five Great Forests and help highlight the local stewards leading the fight to keep Central America’s largest forests standing so that they can keep welcoming the birds back year after year.
