422 South teamed up with Emporium Productions once again to produce graphics and CGI for a fast-turnaround documentary ‘The Sinking Of A Superyacht: How Safe Is Your Voyage?’, delivering a dramatic account of the events surrounding the Bayesian yacht tragedy and its immediate aftermath.
This quick turnaround ITV documentary delves deeply into the events of 19th August, 2024, just off the coast of Sicily. Aided by 422 South’s CGI it explores the theories behind what happened and what the implications of this event could mean for the future of super-yacht design.
Rescuers, investigators, yacht designers, climate scientists and oceanographers provide first hand accounts and expert opinions to piece together a timeline of the sinking and asks whether key safety protocols were ignored leading to the deaths of six people.
Our task was to provide engaging graphics and CGI to provide a visual insight into this tragic event and its possible causes. 422 South generated visuals that partnered with interviews, represent what has been previously unseen to give the audience an accurate representation of the challenges that faced the Bayesian and its crew on that fateful night.
‘The Sinking Of A Superyacht: How Safe Is Your Voyage?’ will be first broadcast in the UK on ITV1 at 9pm on Thursday 3rd October and will then also be available to watch anytime on ITVX.
